The O’Fallon Police Department is divided into Administrative and Operations Divisions, each of which house several smaller units. Operations officers serve in the the traffic unit, K9 program, and St. Charles County Regional SWAT team. The Administrative Division includes animal and park patrol, community services, records, school resource officers, and the criminal investigation and cyber crime units.

The 2022 report notes that the Department received approximately 74 calls per day that year, with the majority being calls for public service, followed by suspicious circumstances, auto accidents, and traffic service calls. The Department conducted approximately 94 self-initiated activities daily, including an average of 53 traffic stops per day.
